Inter Milan will look to maintain their Scudetto defence with a win over Hellas Verona on Saturday evening, following their critical Derby d’Italia victory last weekend. The Nerazzurri will play one of Serie A’s most improved sides, who secured their top-half position with Monday’s win over Genoa, despite their historical domination over the Veneto outfit.

Inter will be looking for consecutive league wins for the first time in this calendar year. Hakan Calhanoglu’s first-half penalty was enough to secure all three points against Juventus and get their title hopes back on track. As Inter will be looking for a consecutive league win, free football tips can be advantageous for the fans.

The Italian defending champions hope to keep the pressure on AC Milan and Napoli with another three-pointer.

Verona has never beaten Inter in the three-point era, losing 17 times and drawing four times. Their last victory in the match was in February 1992, when Ezio Rossi scored the only goal in a 1-0 win.

The champions have 11 fewer points than they did in their first 30 Serie A games last season, but they are still in contention for the Scudetto, starting the weekend just four points behind city rivals Milan and with an extra fixture to play as a trump card.

Following a 3-1 triumph at Stadio Bentegodi earlier this season, Saturday’s opponents are the team Inter have met the most times without ever losing since the turn of the century, so there should be no reason to be concerned.

The Gialloblu have failed to score in 22 of the clubs’ meetings in Milan, with 11 draws and 19 defeats, so the odds are stacked against them this weekend.

Hellas has secured ninth place in the rankings with seven games remaining and is only seven points behind the European qualification slots after their 1-0 win over Genoa on Monday.

In a game with few chances for either side, leading scorer Giovanni Simeone produced the crucial strike early on at the Bentegodi, clinching a 12th league victory of the season.

Head-to-Head

The Nerazzurri have won 16 of their past 20 games against Verona.

They’ve also won three straight games in the series since a 2-2 tie in July 2020, including a 3-1 victory in the August reverse fixture.

Inter Milan: Stefan de Vrij returned as an unused substitute in the Derby d’Italia after being sidelined by a calf injury sustained against Liverpool last month. The Dutch defender is now well enough to compete with Danilo D’Ambrosio for a spot in Inter’s back three. Lautaro Martinez is suspended and will likely be replaced up front by either Alexis Sanchez or Joaquin Correa.

Hellos Verona: The Mastiffs are plagued by injuries, with numerous players on the sidelines. Diego Coppola and Alessandro Berardi could miss the rest of the season due to injuries. Kevin Lasagna and Antonin Barak may return to the team in the following weeks.
