Things have not gone too well for Inter Milan in their 2020/21 Serie A campaign so far and The Daily Mail have left their immediate thoughts on what is happening at the San Siro outfit.

Despite leading the club to the UEFA Europa League final last season – in which they were beaten by Sevilla – the outlet claims that Antonio Conte is starting to run out of excuses at the club. Bettors should not have any excuses in the future regarding bookmakers because if they take the time to look around for the best sites, then they should be able to find the best offers available.

The current manager had initially been convinced to remain in the San Siro hot seat as they pledged to build the team as he had wished in the transfer market after he publicly criticised what was going on at the club in regards to recruitment.

Achraf Hakimi completed a £36 million switch from Real Madrid in the summer as one of I Nerazzurri’s biggest deals, however the Moroccan has really struggled to show his defensive qualities in Serie A.

Inter Milan have already conceded eight goals in their opening five matches, which included a 2-1 defeat to arch-rivals AC Milan last weekend.

Indeed, the defence has become a clear problem that Conte needs to address – despite having addressed it with a rather significant amount of investment. Aleksandr Kolarov made the switch from AS Roma as well, however he is deemed to be far too attack-minded for the centre-back role and as a result, often gets caught out when teams break against Inter Milan.

The defence is becoming a clear weak spot for Conte’s Inter, despite heavy investment in their back line during the window.  Their other defensive signing, Aleksandr Kolarov from Roma, is deemed as too attacking for the left centre back role and often gets caught out on the break.

Clean sheets have clearly been hard to come by for I Nerazzurri this season. When taking a look at the same period last season, Conte’s side had already managed to register three clean sheets in their first four games and whilst they have two already, they have shipped the aforementioned eight goals already.

It is not just the defence that is a problem – like The Daily Mail point out – as Christian Eriksen‘s struggles at Inter Milan continue and he looks increasingly like he will turn into a flop at the club.

He arguably does not fit the system that Conte likes to utilise. The manager wants a fast and physical approach in his 3-5-2 set-up, however the Dane is almost the complete opposite in the way he plays.

Paid £9 million a year, the 28-year-old simply isn’t justifying the wage he is on and questions are being asked.
